SwaggTalk100 Spotlight: Aaliyah

August 25, 2010

Gone, but never forgotten

Yes i’m speaking of none other than the musically talented, strikingly beautiful, soulful angel named Aaliyah She was a true work of art, her style was unique, classy, her music was something to be yearned for by many and not one person had anything even remotely bad to say about her. Today alot of the buzz on the net is in celebration of her death anniversary which i’ve always thought was morbid to cheer and party year after year after somebodies passing. Did you know if she had lived she would’ve been 31 yrs old? personally music just hasn’t been the same without her, to listen or watch Aaliyah on Youtube to see what she gave us plus she never used sexually charged lyrics or videos to gain her fans attention.

She got it the right way that added to a fly style, meaningful lyrics and a very humble demeanor is why she is remembered and never will be forgot.

Lets checkout what others have said about her today Aaliyah remembered by Missy Elliot, more, on 9th anniversary of her death When it comes to her music it was fresh, never the same as the last i’ve enjoyed every single song she has created, earlier while thinking of what to blog about i seen her on my computer screen and said thats it, i’ll post about Aaliyah…funny thing was I hadn’t even noticed that today was the day of her passing and what everybody else is saying about. Then i googled Aaliyah totally amazed at the buzz around her name.

Lets not rebel in the thought of her passing, but yet celebrate her while she was here and what she left for all of us to enjoy…her spirit and music.

For more on Aaliyah please visit her website thats up in her honor, there’s alot of swagger jackers online so i`m not sure if these are her actual sites (you know how low lifes try to cash in when your gone) here’s a few sites that might interests you Aaliyah.com , Aaliyah on FaceBook, Aaliyah on Blackplanet , Aaliyah on myspace , Aaliyah on Twitter the songtress lives on in all our hearts, had she lived she would sill be blessing us with tasteful music that we all love listening to.

she was truly “One in a Million” R-I-P Aaliyah Dana Haughton (January 16, 1979 – August 25, 2001)

I loved her in Romeo Must Die and I still pump the soundtrack in my car 10 yrs on. Mary J Blige makes reference to Aaliyah in her song ‘MJB da MVP’ and it gets to me every time I hear it. When talented and beautiful people in the spotlight die it pulls me back down to earth & reminds me life is short & to not waste time with all the BS – E xx

To be honest I’ve never really listened to her. Guess I will need to remedy that.
