Throwback Tuesdays (movie)

May 4, 2010

Whats going on everybody? we know many of you love the throwbacks we post every tues, sorry this is a late one, me and the team have been extremely busy this week of course regardless you guys know me i’ll always find time some how, besides its tues still somewhere in the world.

This week i’ll take you back to 1992 when one of my favorite movies of all time came out which is Death Becomes Her a dark comedy film directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Goldie Hawn, Meryl Streep, Bruce Willis and Isabella Rossellini. It won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. This movie was madly insane and still is one fo the few movies I could watch numerous times and it never gets old. The plot was very original which these days lets face it originality is as dead as the characters in the film.

Bruce Willis has never been funnier, Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep never looked better and the entire movie over all was a riot to me. Here’s a fun fact about two of the actresses you did know: Goldie Hawn is older than Meryl Streep…who knew right actually she is older than everybody in the movie, damn sure didn’t look it though? For more info on Goldie take a peek at the Goldie Hawn fan club . As for Bruce Willis it was super cool considering this came out when I was a kid. This movie is a lots of fun now that i`m all grown up mr Willis, he is a damn good actor and just doesn’t get much credit as he deserves for his talent, hey checkout what he had to say on people.com. Loved all his Die Hard films, seeing a star is versatile roles is as exciting as seeing for myself.

Long live funny movies, life is a struggle and we all need a good damn laugh at times which this movie delivers so when you can or if you can check it out. The film received mixed reviews. It currently holds a 56% approval rating at Rotten Tomatoes based on 18 reviews (10 positive, 8 negative).[2] Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert both gave the film a ‘thumbs down’, commenting that while the film had great special effects, it lacked any real substance or character depth.[3]

Despite the lackluster reception, it won an Academy Award, Meryl Streep was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance and the film was number 1 at the box office, click here for a list of Meryl Streep movies presented to you by Yahoo
bravo! take that movie critics -ha!

what do the rest of you think of this movie?

@ Novi omg she is one of my favs too, loved her in Bridges of madison county and The Devil wears prada. She is a funny lady and just seems to blend into character with each film.

your an artist Kaoki so you will be pleased with the visual effects of the movie, it really was ahead of its time granted things could’ve been done a bit different, this film is funny all the same.
