Ross Stores…a hidden shopping treasure

April 30, 2010

Here at swaggtalk100 we like to keep you up on clothing, fashion, shoes, shopping and all thats related
mind you we are not all about high end fashion either well at least i`m not, looking good and feeling great does’nt have to be a pocket buster. A friend of mines awhile back mentioned to me about a store that alot of people did’nt know anything about called Ross that carried limited items and amounts of some of your favorite brand names of all sorts such as

Anne Klein,
Calvin Klein, Ed Hardy, Guess, Nike, Reebok.

There prices are insane there 20% to 40% off retail department stores even the ones thats already on sell making them the discount store and consumers paradise. They sell housewares, bedding, clothing for men, women, children’s, toys, sports gear and fine jewelry (some locations) This store chain started out on the west coast and has branch out all the out her ny me on the east in NJ. Perhaps many of you already shop at some fo their stores or if your interested and this sounds good see if there is a Ross in your area.

Ross also carries: Baby Phat, Deréon, Nautica, Nine West, Tommy Hilfiger just to name a few.

Now personally i`ve been told at times that I was ahead of the times, which must be true because of ideas and things that sparked my interests years ago people are currently wearing. Setting myself apart from the pack when its all said and done why would I want to be rock in what everybody else is rocking? Be it as it may you have trend setters of all types so no matter if your doing your on thing or marching to the drum of somebody else’s fashion beat…rock it, but dont break your pocket when you dont have to.

Ross has a great selection and even better prices.. heres a little of their company profile so you can get a better idea of them, their history and whats going on…before I spend money I always like to know if the company is on their A-game.

Corporate Profile
Ross Stores, Inc., an S&P 500, Fortune 500 and Nasdaq 100 (ROST) company headquartered in Pleasanton, California, is the nation’s second largest off-price retailer with fiscal 2009 revenues of $7.2 billion. Shame this isn’t in the UK, bargains are usually always a good thing… Instead we have TK Maxx (Yes, that’s no typo: T “Kay” Maxx!)

  10. May 2, 2010 4:23 pm

Yes there along the lines of Marshalls, TJ Max and Kohls, there merchandise is legit

now you and anybody else who comes here that knows me, knows i`m not a fashionista, but I certainly dont do “knock offs, damaged or imitations” their items are not defective in any way, shape or form and yes they are all the real deal.

There are different income mediums so why would there not be different price mediums for name brands especially popular ones? if everything was the same exact price there would be a lot less sales and the brand names would actually become less desired…and popular.

If they carry Disney Princess stuff, then its time for me to locate the nearest one, my daughter loves that line.

  12. May 2, 2010 4:06 pm

    @ Novi
girl they have more name brand stuff for kids than they do for adults lol, only thing I dont like about them is they dont offer online shopping.

all good points you mentioned, the clothing is apart of the drawing, but cant over shadow the charaters.

webi ima get my swagg on once i make it to a NY location. i loves me a deal, and i think this store is somewhat like a TJ Max or Century 21. and if this spot is like the two i mentioned, everythings real, but super cheap. some people think items in these stores are not real, when they actually are…they just have a slight defection, like the stitching on a pocket may be off a little.
Ross Stores maybe my new spot tho. thanks webi!

You are right. However, you have to make sure that
your characters are not too “dependent” of their
cloths. People have to recognize them even if you
change their cloths or their haircut, just with their
facial a attributes(eyes, nose, etc…) and this is really hard.

  17. May 1, 2010 6:06 pm

The two go hand in hand actually…an eye for detail, color combinations as well as style type

wonders what swaggtalk100 has to say about all of this?

It depends, really, some days it interests me, some days it doesn’t.
But Fashion is important for character design.

Are you into fashion and clothing Kaoki? your an artistic person so I would definately see the connection if you were…an eye for detail always gives it away 😉 Finding a good deal is always nice.
