Swaggtalk100 Spotlight: Emek
This is the one and only, the first lady of SWAGGTALK100, the homegirl who holds it down when the fellas are hard at work or hardly working lol j/k…anywho my much needed swaggcation is still in effect so i`m not here long, just wanted to drop some info about one of my favorite artist out there
No i`m not talking about music, i`m speaking of a talented, super fly illustrator by the name of Emek if you haven’t heard of him i`m sure you’ve seen his works all around the world. In the quest to keep swagg alive and bring you guys and gals something eye catching different and edgy we have a few things planed, but our teammates are limited in their area’s of experience
…. so it was time to contact the big dogs – Are you still wondering just “who” Emek is? Well he has currently worked with Erykah_Badu on sever CD covers and posters not to mention he has worked with countless others… just take a look at some of his work this dude is a walking imagination board gone wild.

Thanks Tee! your the best in town love ya girl because you handle your business and always gett back to us about ours + you offer advice and leads on legit vs scam so we dont get ourselves in any design debates with other designers (ugh) those links you provided were the top shelf.
Hopefully we will have some more suprises in store for our fan soon enough and even one or two before this week is out for swaggtalk100 himself, since he is such a cool dude in all 😉

Ok.. I took a look at Emek’s site.. (I love when you take my advice in the spirit it was given boo! *wink*) So ok.. I did check out Emek’s website and I do like his work but I will agree with what Novi said.. I find his work to be a bit “dark”.. Swaggtalk needs more of an upbeat, colorful, fun type of illustrator.. Maybe Emek is that and he just hasn’t shown that side in his work.. But he is DEFINITELY talented.. I envy him. LOL.. Someone who’s work I absolutely love and find to be so damn nice is: Rion Vernon He does sketching and illustrations.. I LOVE his work! And also i found another guy.. Leon Ryan… I love his work as well! And it seems to be more of what Swaggtalk is looking for and needs! OMG! so hot! LOL!!! *muah*
Thanks Ed …oh i`m only here for a moment lol, as for Emek I would’nt say we have connections, but I know a some people who knows a few people, not to mention I do know a 1 or 2 people personally as well 😉 Yes we are working on several things and tshirt logos is one of them. We are still in our infant stages with registering, design details, who, when and where.
Emek is great love is vision for the *unique* that what sells even though we like whats out now soemthing new and unseen catches eyes quick.

I took a peek at Emek’s site and he’s amazingly talented. His work reminds me of the cover artists of the 70s. I especially of his Singapore poster. I love animation and art so this was right up my alley. So, are you saying Emek is going to do some T-shirt designs for you?

…unfortinately it was’nt the one i’de like to get, Emek is currently booked up for the entire summer. As much as I like his work (brilliant) cant wait that long so our search continues
till we find that perfect fit for us…its funny though when I was a kid, I was one of the baddest upcoming artist, could draw still life, cartoons, buildings and even bring new ideas to life

To be honest the gentleman’s work is nice, more of a horrorific medium with a sci-fi approach, which is not my thing.
